- In 2000, 76.6 million students enrolled in school from kindergarten through graduate schools.
- The largest high school gymnasium in the U.S. is in New Castle, Indiana. It is the New Castle Fieldhouse, which can house up to 9,325 people.
- In 2007, 76% of public school teachers were female.
- From 2000 to 2013, 6.5 million more students will attend a college or university.
- In just this this school year alone, the expenditure for public elementary and secondary schools is estimated to be at $591 billion.
- Every day, there are 8,300 students drop out of high school. In other words, 3,030,000 students drop out of high school each year.
- Students grades 6 through 12 find it hard to read. In fact, it has be found that 6 million students in these grade levels have lower-than-basic levels of reading.
- 23% of all public and private schools have a uniform policy.
- In 2011, Arizona State University has the highest new transfer acceptance rate at 87.6%.
- In 2010, 16% of college students were 35+ years old.
